This was the hardest race I have ever done. The elevation and hills killed me. But the course was amazing. My first trail run and the scenery and views made every agonizing step worth it. I had so much fun and met some great people. I am thinking I might have to make it an annual event.

I am taking the week off and will start running again when I get back to ND next week.

You did awesome! I think it was also the hardest race I have ever done as well. But I also had a ton of fun and the scenery was great. Would be awesome if you made it an annual event! I don't think I could get my husband to run it (ever), but I think he's interested in volunteering next year. Would be fun to meet up with again.

Good luck with your running/training this summer. My blogging will probably take a serious hit when I leave for Montana in a couple weeks for field camp- but I'll try to check in when I can. Take care!

Montana will be fun. I'm sure you will be quite busy. What a great opportunity! At least you won't have to worry about the elevation change. :) You will miss your husband and pups. When are you leaving?

I was exhausted just looking at the photos on their website! Awesome job!

I will definitely miss my husband and pups. I'm actually not sure why I agreed to do this, but I know it will be fun and a great opportunity for me. The field camp was where I knew I wanted to do geology for the rest of my life, so it makes me happy that I might be able to give back in some way. The hubby is driving me out to Rapid City the weekend of June 25/26. The course actually starts in Rapid City and we do a week of black hills/wyoming/yellowstone geology before heading up to Montana. Should be exciting!
