A measily 2 miles. Planned to go farther, but a crop sprayer messed up our plans. It rained all day, then this evening the sun came out and it was an awesome evening. Bayly had a great time playing in the ditch. Summer running started on Monday for the CC team. I won't be able to go in every day with the gas prices, but I hope to get in to run with them as much as I can. We lost 12 Seniors last year so it will be interesting to see where our numbers are this year.

Hopefully you gain 12 freshmen :)

Ugh, crop sprayers. I remember when we didn't think they were so bad. My mother in law remembers playing in them when she was young in the 50's.. times have changed a bit (probably for the best in respect to pesticides).

How far of a drive is it to the CC practice? Any chance you could bike it? Would be good cross training- although the drivers these days make all bike commuting scary. I am so thankful that we can take the bus to and from work, we usually only have to buy gas once a month or so and then only if we have to take trips down to the plains. Most grocery shopping can be done on bike, although the ~400' climb over a mile from town to where we live with a few 10 of lbs of groceries is less than fun.. I just keep telling myself; strong legs, strong legs.. it all helps :)

I would love to ride my bike to practice. Unfortunately it is 30 miles one way. It would be such good cross training, which I really need to do more. Your legs must be unbelievably strong. When I ride my bike to get groceries my elevation change is...1-2 feet max. :)Trying to juggle groceries and bike on an incline would be suicide for me. I'm impressed.

30 miles is a bit long for cross training and dangerous to be doing too often with all the crazy drivers out there. Believe it or not, the PT actually thinks that some of the knee/quad issues I've been having is because my legs are actually not that strong. I suppose it's all relative though. Maybe they are just not strong enough to bike up everyday as well as run hills with the pups every day. I carry a backpack for groceries when I do grab them on my bike- definitely limits the quantity of groceries and makes me think twice about the heavy or frozen foods (e.g., ice cream- which is probably for the best!).
